The city of Rochester is reminding residents of support resources available during the holiday season.

This comes as the American Psychological Association says nearly nine in 10 people feel elevated levels of stress during December, some of which can be caused by financial stress or grief from missing lost loved ones.

The city says its crisis intervention community support team can provide resources to navigate this time.

“We want the community to know that there is help for anyone who may be struggling around this time of year,” said Mayor Malik Evans. “I encourage families to check on one another and share the numerous resources and support services that the city and community organizations have to offer."

Anyone who is experiencing an immediate mental health crisis should call 211 or 988 and ask for the Person in Crisis Team.

There's also information for Christmas meals and food baskets available on the city's website.
