ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Seneca Park Zoo has a new baby giraffe.
His name is one that might sound familiar to New Yorkers.
Olmstead is a Masai giraffe calf. Zoo officials say he is one of about 45,000 left in the world.
He's named after Frederick Law Olmstead, the designer of Seneca Park in Rochester, Central Park in New York City and many other parks across the state.
Unfortunately, Olmstead, the giraffe overslept on Wednesday morning and missed his naming ceremony.
