ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The independent genre film festival, Anomaly, returns to the big screen in Rochester for four days of scrappy, monster, slasher and action packed films made around the world.
Tickets are on sale now for the Anomaly Film Fest at the historic Little Theatre on East Avenue in Rochester.
Adam Lubitow and the Anomaly team are thrilled to be back for in-person screenings of all kinds of genre films. There are 12 features films and 29 short films in the festival. Some are truly indescribable.
“Yes it is super exciting," Lubitow said. "I think this year has 11 different countries represented from Japan like 'Beyond the Infinite Two Minutes,’ and Zalava from Iran. There are a couple of shorts from Spain, Ireland and the U.K. So it is a wide spectrum."
Rochester artist and indie film fanatic, Magnus Champlin, invites any and all to the Anomaly experience.
“Oh I love films,” Champlin said. “Films are one of my favorite things. Anomaly picks some of the best films I have ever encountered and sharing it, I would never get a chance to see these. I’m so glad Anomaly can share these with Rochester.”
Erin Murphy says Anomaly is a chance to see films you just can’t see anywhere else in one theatre.
“Oh why is Anomaly worth it? Well not only is Anomaly a family, but we are a bunch of movie nerds coming together to say, hey, we want to share our love of movies and genre films with Rochester,” Murphy said.
The Anomaly Film Festival is Nov. 4-7.
There are $12 individual screening tickets available or a Full Festival Pass for $85 that gets you admission to all screenings, discussions and other events during the festival.
