BRIGHTON, N.Y. — Monroe Community College now has a new leader.

Dr. DeAnna R. Burt-Nanna is appointed as MCC's sixth president.

She has more than two decades of higher education leadership experience, and will be the first person of color to lead the school.

Dr. Burt-Nanna succeeds interim president Dr. Katherine Douglas, who will help with the transition.

Douglas joined the college in February 2020 after the departure of Dr. Anne Kress.

Dr. Burt-Nanna officially takes over on May 21, 2021.
