As Roberts Wesleyan College prepares for students to head back to in-person classes on August 24, school officials say students traveling to New York from states currently under the state's travel advisory will have to quarantine.
The school says it offered students options to either quarantine on campus or somewhere in the state. However, it will not mandate testing students.
"We are not a testing site. If at some point in time we are asked to do that, we will help students be able to find testing sites to do that," said Roberts Wesleyan College Vice President for Enrollment Management Kimberley Wiedefeld. "There are several close to campus, but our campus is not a testing site."
Correction: A Roberts Wesleyan College spokesperson has confirmed that only students who are traveling to New York from states currently under travel advisory will have to quarantine. The previous version implied that all students must quarantine, regardless of their state.
