GATES, N.Y. — Online bidding starts Saturday for the annual Toast for Hope Gala Online Auction to benefit Hope Hall School in Gates.

What You Need To Know

  • Hope Hall School provides an opportunity for educationally marginalized children to become successful lifelong learners

  • Hope Hall has students in grades 3 through 12 from school districts across the Greater Rochester area

  • Hope Hall is located at 1612 Buffalo Rd. in Gates, and can be reached at (585) 426-0210

There are 50 gift baskets full of donated items up for bid. There's even a Buffalo Bills-themed basket full of snacks and drinks. For scratch-off fans, there’s a fun lotto board that’s also up for bid. Hope Hall staff and volunteers got some help from student in grades 3-12 to make handcrafted wooden furniture and toys that will also be in the online auction.

“Hope Hall is a private school for kids who learn differently," said Samantha Standing from Hope Hall. “We do not receive funding from school districts or government sources. So every year we have to raise about $3 million and our gala is our largest fundraising event of the year to help towards that goal. Every penny raised goes to help these kids get the type of education that they need and deserve.”

The online auction is open to any and all. Bids will be accepted Saturday from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. You can find the auction at HopeHall.org.
