ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The husband of Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren appeared in federal court Monday.

Timothy Granison faces drug-related charges along with four others, according to police and the Monroe County District Attorney's Office

Court documents describe Jason Siplin as a ring leader, with Granison, allegedly exchanging several calls with Siplin for what investigators believe were drug exchanges.

On May 14, Granison is accused of supplying co-defendant Dkeidron Dublin with drugs while the mayor's daughter was in the vehicle with him. A few days later, police took Granison and Dublin into custody at a traffic stop.

According to the complaint, 31 grams of cocaine were found on the floor of Granison's car. This led to a search of several locations, including a home on Woodman Park registered to Mayor Warren, where police say firearms were seized.

Granison's attorney says the state's case will focus on events at the Woodman Park home compared to searches at other locations.

"So essentially I believe the district attorney's case is going to be limited to these firearms which we believe to be legal that were inside the home," said DeMarco. "And what, if any, crimes they'll charge from those circumstances and potentially the presence of the young child there."

DeMarco said it'll take about three to four weeks for the prosecution to get its evidence to him for the federal case.

Granison is due back in federal court in late August.
