ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester police have released the name of a man shot and killed on the city's southwest side on Wednesday.
The department says officers responded to the area of Bartlett Street and Jefferson Avenue around 12:45 p.m. for a report of multiple gunshots heard. When they arrived, they say they found Eric Ruise, 31, laying near the sidewalk. Police say Ruise had been shot multiple times. He was pronouced dead at the scene.
Authorities say through their investigation, they have learned multiple suspects fired more than 20 rounds at the victim.
Police believe dozens of people were in the area and witnessed the shooting.
