In a letter posted on the district’s website on Thursday, Churchville-Chili Central School District says a middle school employee has tested positive for COVID-19.

The district says the employee has not been on campus since September 16, and that they had minimal interaction with students before that date.

According to the district’s website, the case originated outside of the school environment, and the employee will not return to campus until cleared by the health department.

"Through its contact tracing protocols, the Department of Health will work with any impacted families and provide further directions. If families have not been contacted by the Department of Health, then you (or your family) are not considered to be at risk of exposure, and there are no additional actions required," Superintendent Lori Orologio said in the message.

The district says you can contact your medical provider or the Monroe County Department of Health with questions or concerns, or call the New York State coronavirus hotline at 1-888-364-3065 for other health-related questions.
