The pilot testing center is located at Jordan Health Brown Square Center on Lake Avenue.
It'll be open every Saturday through October 3rd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Residents don't need to show symptoms to get tested, but they will be health screened once they arrive. Health officials tell us the temporary site will help those in the community get tested.
"A lot of us have been doing this for a while. Out in the community making sure that especially black and brown people are getting educated about COVID and how to prevent COVID,” said Senior Health Advisor at Common Ground Health Linda Clark. “So, we've realized early on that that needed to be married with testing."
The testing site is being funded by a United Way grant obtained by the University of Rochester Medical Center.
URMC says it will offset the cost of getting tested for those who don't have health insurance.
