Spring and summer are packed with festivals and events that people in the Rochester area look forward to every year.
The coronavirus pandemic has forced some to postpone and others to cancel completely.
Here is a list of some of the major events and their status as of July 16.
Fall Big Band Series at Roger Robach Center
The Ontario Beach Park Program Committee announced that the Fall Big Band Dance Series will be canceled this year.
Usually helld in September and October at Ontario Beach Park’s Roger Robach Center, the committee hopes to be able to resume the series next April.

Rochester Summer Soul Music Festival
The Rochester Summer Soul Music Festival is the latest festival to be canceled because of the pandemic.
The festival was scheduled to take place at the frontier Field on August 28 and 29.
This year would've marked the 25th anniversary of the festival, formerly known as the Rochester Music Fest.
Organizers still plan to celebrate that milestone next summer.
Refunds are being offered to anyone who already purchased tickets, or they can be held onto for 2021.

Fairport Mustic Festival
Organizers of the Fairport Music Festival say they will be unable to produce the event for 2020.
In its place they plan to hold smaller "pop-up" events around music & food while sticking with their mission of raising funds for the Golisano Children's Hospital.

CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival
The CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival announced that the festival's nine-day 19th annual event would be canceled for 2020.
It was originally rescheduled for June 19-27, and then later October 2-10, but the pandemic has forced its complete cancelation.
Officials plan on holding the next festival June 18 – 26, 2021.

Naples Grape Festival
The Naples Grape Festival, which was supposed to take place on September 26 and 27, has been canceled.

Rochester Garlic Festival
The Rochester Garlic Festival, scheduled to take place on September 12 and 13, has been canceled.

Empire Farm Days
One of the largest farm shows in the Northeast has been canceled this year.
The event was scheduled for July 29 - 31 on the Rodman Lott Farm in Seneca County.
Empire Farm Days has been rescheduled for August 2021.
Town of Greece Fourth of July Celebration
The Town of Greece Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration has been canceled.
Organizers cited the lack of timely guidance from New York State on crowd-size limitations
Rochester Fourth of July Fireworks
The city of Rochester has canceled its annual Fourth of July Fireworks display due to concerns about mass gatherings.
Fairport 4th of July Parade
The annual Fairport 4th of July Parade has been canceled this year.
The village also cancelled its annual party in the park that follows the parade.
The Fairport-Perinton Chamber of Commerce says it's looking forward to the parade's return in 2021 with a revamped lift-bridge.
Penfield Independence Day Celebration
The town of Penfield has officially canceled all Independence Day activities for 2020.
Instead, the people of Penfield have been encouraged to decorate their houses in patriotic gear as part of the town's 'Patriotism on Parade' competition.

Rochester Lilac Festival
The 2020 festival, scheduled for May 8 - 17, has been canceled.
The event is scheduled to return in 2021.
Rochester International Jazz Festival
The Jazz Festival was scheduled for June 19 - 27 but has now been rescheduled for early October.
It will be held October 2 - 10.
Each year it attracts hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world.

Corn Hill Arts Festival
Organizers say the annual Corn Hill Arts Festival is not happening at all in 2020.
It would have been held on July 11 and 12.
A resurgence of the festival for 2021 is currently being discussed.

Park Avenue Summer Art Festival
The Park Ave. Fest website says it's postponed — but it will not be held in 2020.
Instead, organizers say the festival has been rescheduled for August 7 and 8 of 2021.

Fairport Canal Days
Another event that draws a big crowd, Fairport Canal Days announced its cancellation on Wednesday.
It was scheduled for June 5, 6 and 7. It has been rescheduled for June 4, 5 and 6 of 2021.
Organizers say in lieu of the festival, a $10,000 donation is being made to the Perinton Food Shelf.

Rochester Puerto Rican Festival
Organizers of the festival have decided to postpone the event until 2021.
It was originally scheduled to take place August 13 - 15 at Frontier Field.
Out Alliance Summer Pride Parade and Festival
The Out Alliance website states that all events are canceled until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A news release sent out on Wednesday says the alliance is in talks with the City of Rochester to secure postponement dates for 2020.
The celebrations usually stretches over a week to 10 days in mid-July.
Food Truck Rodeos at Rochester Public Market
Held on the last Wednesday of June, July, August, and September, these events have become a summer staple.
Right now, all Food Truck Rodeos are postponed.
All special events at the Rochester Public Market have been placed on hold.
Irondequoit Memorial Day Parade
The town says the annual Memorial Day parade scheduled for Sunday, May 24 has been canceled.

Greece Memorial Day Parade
This year's parade has been canceled over fears of inadequate social distancing and the large crowd that typically gathers for the event.
Town of Chili Chil-E Festival
The town announced on Thursday, April 9 that the 2020 Chil-E Festival scheduled for July 4 has been canceled.
Rochester Twilight Criterium
The MVP Health Care Twilight Criterium has been canceled for 2020.
The high-paced cycle race was scheduled for Saturday, June 6.
Wayne County Fair
Organizers of the 165th Wayne County Fair have decided to officially cancel the event for 2020 because of the pandemic.
It was scheduled to take place August 10-15. Instead, it has been rescheduled for August 9-14, 2021.
Webster Fireman's Carnival & Parade
For the first time in more than 80 years the Webster Fire Department has made the decision to cancel the annual Fireman's Carnival & Parade to protect the health of the community.
The event was scheduled to take place on July 15 through 18.

Palmyra Canaltown Days
For the health and safety of the community, organizers of the 2020 Palmyra Canaltown Days festival have decided to cancel the event.
The festival is being rescheduled for September 25 and 26, 2021.

Ontario County Fair
The 177th annual Ontario County Fair scheduled for July 21-25, 2020 is now canceled due to COVID-19 safety concerns.
The fair averages 15,000 attendees annually and is run solely by volunteers.
The event is now scheduled for July 27 to July 31, 2021.
Hilton Apple Festival
Hilton will not hold its annual Apple Festival in October.
Organizers hope to host a 40th anniversary celebration of the season next year.
Orleans County 4-H Fair
The Orleans County 4-H Fair will not be held this summer due to the pandemic.
The event was scheduled for July 27 - August 1. It is now being planned for July 26 - 31, 2021

Irondequoit Oktoberfest
Oktoberfest in Irondequoit will not take place this September. The event was scheduled to take place September 11-12 and 18-19.
The celebration typically features German music, food and family fun. Performers from as far away as Europe travel to Irondequoit each year for the festival.
The town says Oktoberfest is expected to return next year.

Avon Rotary Corn Festival
The Avon Rotary was forced to cancel their annual Corn Festival for the first time in over 30 years due to the pandemic.
They will instead host a Road Rally and Scavenger Hunt around Livingston County dubbed the Corn-An-Time Classic.
It’s also partnering with the Avon Lions Club to hold a chicken barbeque the same day.
