The Irondequoit Bay Outlet Bridge is now closed for the season.
The bridge closed to cars and trucks at 9 a.m. on Monday to allow unrestricted boat traffic between the Irondequoit Bay and Lake Ontario for boating season.
The seasonal bridge gives drivers up near Lake Ontario a shortcut around the bay during the fall and winter. For the spring and summer, the bridge swings to its storage space. That means vehicles on the road must divert to Route 104 and cross the Irondequoit Bay Bridge to get around the bay.
