Marge's Lakeside Inn is a favorite of many in the Rochester area — and so was its owner. Sadly, Fran Beth has died. Calling hours were announced on Thursday.

Fran's daughter and the bar's co-owner, Francine, announced her mother's passing on Facebook on Wednesday:

"My mom passed away, just about 2 a.m. last night. I guess it was 'last call' in heaven. She did make her bday dinner at Payments and was very happy. Then things took a bad turn. Needless to say, I’m crushed, empty, heartbroken and can’t find any words."

Comments have been pouring in from friends, family and members of the community offering their condolences.

Fran was well known in Irondequoit and Webster. She was interviewed many times over the years by Spectrum News 1 on issues ranging from changing regulations that impacted the bar to the rising level of Lake Ontario and the ongoing debate over the Irondequoit Bay Outlet Bridge, which is a stone's throw from her business.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 5 from 3-8 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home (570 Kings Highway South). Funeral services will be held in private.

Marge's Lakeside Inn is located on Culver Road near Seabreeze Amusement Park in Irondequoit.
