GREECE, N.Y. — Another new business opened up at the revamped Elm Ridge Center in Greece. Self Serve Pet Wash is all about helping your family pet get super clean. 

Vito and Rocco are two super lucky dogs. Mark Palumbo and his wife Maritrese rescued the homeless dogs a couple of years ago. Vito was a stray roaming the Riga landfill.

What You Need To Know

  • You can walk in with your leashed or crated pet and enter the wash bay for a self-serve washing station

  • They use all natural products that are dispensed through the wash nozzle

  • Each station has built-in shampoo, conditioner, flea treatment and blow dryer

  • The cost is $17 for 12 minutes

"A friend of mine who works for Rescued Treasures posted a picture of Rocco and not that I needed or wanted a dog,” Mark Palumbo said. “But I was like we have to go see this dog and then Rocco needed a friend and here we are.”

Palumbo, who owns High Line Motor Car, was on a business trip in Nashville when he saw a pet wash business. He thought “yes, we definitely need one where we live,” so he opened Self Serve Pet Wash at Elm Ridge Center.

“Oh my gosh, that is an amazing idea because I do not want to watch my dog at my house,” Palumbo said. “He gets away for me that’s around the house and there’s water and soap all over the place. Or maybe he’s rolling around in it. This just seem like the right fit.”

The $17, 12-minute wash has it all. There are four separate wash bays. The self-serve wash has all kinds of bathing options. Just remember to bring a towel.

Rescued Treasures Pet Adoptions brings their new rescues to the pet wash to get cleaned up. The pet adoption organization is super busy. They found new loving homes for 240 dogs in 2021. The rescue group is even busier this year.

“So I am actually fostering these guys and normally it is a nightmare to try to get puppies off a transport and cleaned because they are in the car for hours and they are filthy,” Ashley Streeter from Rescued Treasures said. “We come here and Mark helped us out and it is super simple to get them all cleaned, dried off and ready to go.”

Nail trimming is also available two days a week to start. Palumbo says he’s doing whatever he can to make life easier and squeaky clean for all our furry friends.

Self Serve Pet Wash is open daily at 6 a.m. to midnight. It’s located at 420 Elm Ridge Center, Dr. off of West Ridge Road in Greece.
