GREECE, N.Y. — The town of Greece is opting out of recreational marijuana sales in the town.

The Greece Town Board voted on the matter on Thursday.

Town Supervisor Bill Reilich says residents were able to submit public comments before the town meeting.

Many comments were in favor of opting out. Only one was against the decision.

Towns that choose to opt out can opt back in at any time.

Every municipality in the state must make a decision whether to allow dispensaries by December 31.
