IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. — There’s no better time than now to kick start the holiday season of giving. The Irondequoit Police Department and U.S. Border Patrol are having a Thanksgiving dinner donation drive to support the Irondequoit Community Cupboard.
The ICC is putting together Thanksgiving dinner boxes for registered families in need. To help fill those boxes, IPD is collecting donations of canned corn, gravy, green beans, cranberry, stuffing, canned sweet potatoes and all those traditional Thanksgiving sides we all enjoy.
“I just thought that this year with all that is going on we need to circle back around and help out those organizations here in town," said Irondequoit Police Officer Jonathan Lawton. "The Irondequoit Community Cupboard helps out those in need in Irondequoit. So I thought it was important for us to partner with them and to collect for them."
The Thanksgiving dinner donation drive collection will continue until Thursday, Nov. 18. You can drop off donations in the lobby of the Irondequoit Police Department Mon-Fri from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and at the U.S. Border Patrol Station on Pattonwood Dr. Mon-Fri 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
