ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester’s Bravest 2022 calendar is now on sale. More than a dozen Local 1071 firefighters volunteered to be in the calendar to help raise money for Best Buddies WNY.

They're hoping to sell 2,000 of the $20 calendars to raise $40,000 for Best Buddies WNY. The calendar features male and female Local 1071 firefighters.

"There are two reasons we looked at it for our Local 1071 firefighters union," said firefighter Dan Fox. "The charity is a fantastic charity for these kids and the second is that it keeps fitness at the forefront for our firefighters. It is so critical to be ready to go at any given time. We had about 25 guys show up and we did a little calendar tryout and the best got in the calendar and the rest of the pics are used on Facebook."

"Best Buddies pairs children who have disabilities with children that do not," Lindsay Jewett of Best Buddies WNY said. "We work within school districts, community projects and with adults who have disabilities that are in group homes or stuck at home. We connect them with individuals in the community. We are an organization based on community and being together, so last year was really challenging for us."

Rochester's Bravest calendar is $20 and is for sale at the Rochester Public Market and at any of the calendar sponsors including 58 Main BBQ, Windjammers, Jeremiah’s on Monroe Avenue and online at Best Buddies WNY.
