The PGA Championship of 2023 was projected to generate more than $190 million in revenue for Rochester, making it a highly anticipated event for businesses. According to local leaders, the influx of visitors, the demand for accommodations and the spending at various local shops provide a significant boost to the economic growth of the city of Rochester.

While the week of golf mostly progressed smoothly, a few weather-related obstacles arose. On Thursday morning, a frost delay caused a brief interruption. Additionally, with the start time pushed back on Thursday, the round was not able to wrap up before the sun set, and that caused a short delay on Friday. However, these minor hindrances did not dampen the spirits of the players or the enthusiasm of the spectators. Despite encountering rain on Saturday, the weather conditions improved on Sunday, allowing for the championship to proceed as planned.

Brooks Koepka, determined to restore his reputation as a dominant force in major championships, delivered at the 2023 PGA Championship.

"I've been playing good, I feel like I've been in contention to win every week, probably since Orlando," said Koepka. "I think this one's probably the most meaningful of them all. With everything that's gone on, all the crazy stuff over the last few years, it feels good to be back and get number five. I've always learned more from the four times I've finished second than the five times I've won now. I think failure is how you learn. You get better from it, you realize what mistakes you've made. Each time I've kind of made an adjustment. It's more mentality than it is anything."

Koepka wasted no time in asserting his dominance during the final round. He secured an early advantage by scoring three quick birdies, showcasing his skill and composure under pressure. Despite a spirited challenge from Viktor Hovland, Koepka maintained his lead and closed with a 3 under 67, securing a two-shot victory.
