Jamestown Police Chief Harry Snellings is retiring.

Snellings, a 26-year law enforcement veteran, spent 24 of those years with the Jamestown Police Department. He was first appointed police chief in 2010, serving three terms in that role.

His current contract was set to expire at the end of this year, but his final day will be July 10. Snellings said his decision comes from wanting to spend more time with family.

Jamestown Mayor Eddie Sundquist will now begin the process of finding a replacement.
