BUFFALO, N.Y. — A faith-based organization in Buffalo is working to help dozens of families in the Masten District.
A crowd of volunteers with Eight Days of Hope gathered at Bennett High School's All-High Stadium Saturday.
The group says that, over the next week, 1,000 people are set to help make free repairs on neighborhood homes.
Eight Days of Hope travels around the country helping people recover from natural disasters.
Two years ago, the group launched an initiative in Buffalo, teaming with businesses like KeyBank and local churches to help communities across the city.
"We're serving 100 families or more with free home repairs, brand new roofs," Eight Days of Hope President and Founder Steve Tybor said. "We're going to paint homes, do window work, do concrete work, fix fences, do landscaping, and so much more. It's going to be an amazing eight days in Buffalo."
Over the past couple years, volunteers with the charity have helped improve and upgrade hundreds of homes in the Queen City.
