Spectrum is proud to continue to help fund programs across the country that promote creative arts.
Here in Upstate New York, we are using our partnership with Ovation TV to award $10,000 to Buffalo Arts Studio.
The money will be going in part to help continue the group's affordable art classes.
Buffalo Arts Studio is one of 10 organizations across the Spectrum network to be getting this funding.
“We see the need. We understand the need,” Buffalo Councilwoman Zeneta Everhart (D) said. “Continuously, we’re seeing programs like the arts getting cut funding, and so it’s really, really important that businesses and organizations come together to support the arts community.”
This donation is part of the Stand For The Arts Awards. Since the initiative started in 2017, Ovation TV and Spectrum have given out 80 awards totaling $800,000 toward arts education.
"We are deeply honored to be recognized for the work happening at Buffalo Arts Studio every day,” Alma Carrillo, Buffalo Arts Studio executive director, said in a statement. “Through our educational programs, exhibitions, and artists’ studios, we see how art fosters an understanding of our differences and uncovers the connections that bind us. This Stand For The Arts Award symbolizes the power of investing in communities through the arts to forge stronger, more resilient bonds as human beings.”
"An unwavering commitment to the communities we serve is at the very core of Spectrum’s long-time partnership with Ovation TV and Stand for the Arts,” Adam Falk, senior vice president, State Government Affairs for Charter Communications, which operates the Spectrum brand, added in a statement. “Together we have honored 80 organizations who help shape and define their community's unique culture and heritage, while providing opportunities for people to connect and share their experiences. This year’s recipients take that impact even further, from providing affordable studio space and accessible art spaces to offering educational programs that inspire creativity for all ages. We congratulate Buffalo Arts Studio for being recognized this year and look forward to celebrating their work together.”
