After already seeing torrential rain and localized flash flooding, heavy rain from Tropical Storm Elsa may bring additional flooding overnight into Friday.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 9 p.m. for parts of the Hudson Valley and New York City.
Severe thunderstorms have already brought a tremendous amount of rain to parts of the Hudson Valley and New York City, with reports of flash flooding. With heavy rain coming in overnight from Elsa, additional flash flooding is possible. A Flash Flood Watch continues for areas south of Albany through Friday.
Heavy rain will wind down Friday morning with rain becoming more isolated in nature Friday afternoon. Flooding concerns should mostly be alleviated by Friday evening.
