DAYTON, Ohio — A new exhibit is offering an opportunity to learn about health and well-being through interactive displays at the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery.
The Children's Wellness Exhibit was created through a collaboration between Dayton Children's and the museum and focuses on children's health.
“The Boonshoft Museum of Discovery is proud to partner with Dayton Children’s to bring the Children’s Wellness Exhibit to life,” said Tracey Tomme, President & CEO of the Dayton Society of Natural History. “This exhibit not only helps children and families better understand their health but also fosters conversations about mental and physical well-being in a way that is engaging, accessible, and inspiring. Together, we’re making wellness education an exciting journey."
Through the exhibit, visitors can explore the connection between "hurts you can see" and "hurts you can't" while sharing messages from Dayton Children’s On Our Sleeves program. The exhibit hopes to educate families on the importance of physical and mental health.
Hands on activities through the exhibit will go through the five senses, encourage mindfulness and understanding the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle. It also seeks to ease anxieties around visiting the docotor or hospital.
The exhibit is included with regular museum admission.
