Here are some suggestions for events and activities happening this weekend in the Capital Region and Hudson Valley, and the weather report to help with planning.

Poughkeepsie Rumble

The new Awesome Championship Wrestling (ACW) holds its inaugural professional wrestling event, "The Poughkeepsie Rumble," Saturday in the Majed J. Nesheiwat Convention Center (formerly the Mid-Hudson Civic Center). Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Live action starts at 7:30 p.m.

Fans will witness championship bouts, heated rivalries, and high-octane performances from some of wrestling’s most celebrated athletes and the brightest newcomers. Plus, the event will feature a 20 man, Over-The-Top-Rope Rumble to crown the inaugural ACW Champion!

Dark Star Orchestra

Having performed more than 2,800 shows, Dark Star Orchestra continues the Grateful Dead live concert experience with two shows at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the jam-friendly Capitol Theatre in Rye, Westchester County.

Tina Friml

Comedian Tina Friml, a standup comedian who uses animated optimism to talk about living with cerebral palsy, will perform at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the Funny Bone Comedy Club in Crossgates Mall, Guilderland.

Her sharp jokes and fearless honesty about the social assumptions that come with living with a disability has earned Tina a dedicated social media following with over 225K followers on Instagram and over 140K on TikTok. She made her late-night debut on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Iona-Siena 

The Siena Saints mens basketball team welcomes Iona to the MVP Arena in Albany for a 2 p.m. Sunday tipoff.

Wedding Expo

The Winter Wedding Expo is happening from 12-4 p.m. Sunday in the Albany Marriott Hotel on Wolf Road, Colonie.

The event features more than 100 wedding professionals and exhibits, surprises for the first 150 engaged couples, raffles a drawing and more.
