A Hudson Valley post office that closed this summer with 24 hours notice to customers will reopen next month, congressmen said Monday.

The Westbrookville Post Office in Deerpark, Orange County, will open again Nov. 14, Reps. Pat Ryan and Marc Molinaro said in separate statements.

It closed on June 29, forcing customers to travel to Otisville to conduct postal business.

“Today’s announcement is a major victory for the people of Westbrookville,” Ryan said. “From seniors who struggled to access medications to families who couldn’t receive critical packages, this closure was devastating to so many across the community."

"We knew the Westbrookville Post Office closure was wrong and worked tirelessly to put pressure on Postal Service leadership," Molinaro said. "Today we are being vindicated.”
