An Albany man pleaded guilty Friday to multiple charges stemming from his involvement in the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the United States Capitol.
2. New York's state budget drags on, 3 weeks overdue
New York’s state budget is now three weeks behind schedule -- the latest in more than a decade. Disagreements have led to criticism from Republicans like Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay, accusing Democrats of dysfunction.
3. Nearly 7 million New Yorkers enrolled through health marketplace
One in three New Yorkers receives health care coverage through the state's marketplace, a key feature of the Affordable Care Act that enables people to purchase individual plans. The state Department of Health reported the growth of enrollment compared to three years ago at the start of the COVID pandemic.
4. Muslim woman addresses Ramadan, xenophobia
Born to a Lebanese father and an Italian mother, Sofia Bock was raised Catholic. 5. Poll: Biden 2024 splits Dems but most would back him
President Joe Biden is preparing to formally announce his 2024 re-election campaign as soon as next week, according to people briefed on the discussions. Less than half of Democrats polled want to see Biden run again in 2024, but a vast majority say he’s doing a good job and will likely support him in the general election if he is the nominee.
