An inmate at the Green Haven Correction Facility in Stormville was killed and another injured in an altercation, State Police said Tuesday night.

Police did not release the identities of the persons involved.

State Police are investigating and said they plan to provide more information when it becomes available.

Members of the New York State Correctional Officers and Police Benevolent Association (NYSCOPBA) have warned about an increase in violence at state prisons and correctional facilities, including incidents from the Green Haven Correctional Facility in 2021.
