A state senator is pushing to reopen Lake Sebago Beach at Harriman State Park. That beach closed a decade ago due to damage from hurricane Irene.
Senator James Skoufis wants the state to put funding for the reopening in this year's budget. Skoufis says the park's other two beaches fill up fast in the peak season.
He notes about 400,000 people visited back in 2019, and says reopening Sebago would ease the burden.
