Ulster County is moving forward with its goal of using 100 percent renewable energy by 2030, as part of the county's "Green New Deal" initiative.

County Executive Pat Ryan announced a $2.5 million project to upgrade HVAC systems in some county buildings today. This will help cut down the county's carbon footprint and save money. That project will be included in the upcoming budget.

The county also announced that some of the energy produced by the planned solar array in Saugerties will be shared with the community, rather than just going toward the needs of the county.
