As the number of cases of COVID-19 in the Hudson Valley continues to climb, the VA Hudson Valley has put out a call to hire medical professionals at two Hudson Valley VA clinics.
"We’re working hard to increase staffing across our facilities so we can rise to any needs to take care of our veterans during this pandemic," said Dawn Schaal, the VA Hudson Valley Medical Center director.
Two VA clinics in the Hudson Valley, Castle Point in Dutchess County and Montrose in Westchester County are looking to hire licensed medical professionals to help in their urgent care, community living, and mental health departments.
"We’re really looking for, in particular, nursing staff to include RNs, LPNs, and nursing assistants," said Schaal.
VA clinics in the Hudson Valley have seen increases in urgent care visits for coronavirus testing or symptoms related to COVID-19 and need extra staff to care for patients during this crisis. They're even reaching out to retirees, who are eligible to work and keep their benefits under a special waiver.
"Our nation's heroes have done so much for our country and it's time that we give back to them and they need our care and support and we need to do everything we can to protect our staff and our veterans and try to keep everybody safe," said Schaal.
