Organizers for Woodstock 50 have again been denied a permit to host a festival commemorating the 50th anniversary of the iconic music festival this summer at Vernon Downs.

Vernon Town leaders said Monday that they received the organizers’ third application too late and it shows too many potential problems.

Festival officials last week week also held a multi-day open house to present their plan to members of the publicand to try to convince lawmakers that the community can support the large event.

Woodstock 50 was originally planned to be held in Watkins Glen, but officials there terminated the site license back in April. In mid-June, talks began around the idea of holding the event at Vernon Downs.

Woodstock 50 does have the option of taking the town to court.
