City officials, volunteers, and organizations in Newburgh want to make sure everyone in Orange County has enough food on the table.

Organizations like RECAP and LINK are creating boxes of food for families in need. The amount of food given is rationed out by the number of people in each family and should be enough to last them a week.

Since the effort is being funded entirely by donations, they need the community's help. Non-perishable food items, diapers, and baby formula are needed most right now.

"We have deliveries in the city of Middletown today. We were in New Windsor; we've been in Cornwall. This is not just a city of Newburgh effort, it's an Orange County effort, and we are going to feed the people who need to be fed," says Michele Mckeon, the COO of RECAP.

To donate or to volunteer, you can reach out to RECAP on their Facebook page or contact Mckeon at (914) 980-8151.
