The coronavirus pandemic has caused many businesses to shut down. However, the need for essential goods and food persists, and companies across the state, and country, are hiring to keep up with a growing demand. Here is a partial list:

RETAIL, GROCERY & RESTAURANT

CVS Health is looking to fill 50,000 jobs across the country. Available positions include store associates, home delivery drivers, distribution center employees and customer service professionals. 

Walgreens is hiring nearly 10,000 full and part-time employees at stores across the U.S.

Walmart is hiring 150,000 temporary employees to meet the growing demand amid the coronavirus pandemic. The roles positions would be filled in stores, distribution centers, and fulfillment centers, and clubs. 

Target is also ramping up the hiring of seasonal employees at stores and fulfillment centers nationwide and across the Capital Region. 

Dollar General is seeking applicants for a range of positions. The retailer has locations across the Capital Region and North Country.

Price Chopper/Market 32 is planning to hire thousands of employees. The Schenectady-based chain is taking applications in most locations.

Aldi is hiring seasonal employees in various stores in the Capital Region, including in Colonie and Queensbury.

Food and drug retailer Albertsons Companies operates in 34 states and is immediately hiring 30,000 employees. They’ve secured additional partnerships with businesses across the country to hire employees at businesses, including BJ’s Restaurants. 

PepsiCo announced it will hire 6,000 new, full-time, full-benefit frontline employees across the U.S. in the next few months. 

Ace Hardware has full and part-time job opportunities available for workers displaced by COVID-19.

Instacart plans to hire 300,000 full-service shoppers across the U.S. and Canada over the next three months for online grocery delivery and pickup.

Domino's, Papa John’s, and Pizza Hut are hiring 60,000 new employees nationwide to meet the demand of food delivery.

HEALTH CARE

GE Healthcare announced plans to bring on more staff to ramp up production of ventilators. 

SECURITY

USPA Nationwide Security is looking for pandemic response officers to provide security at drive-up coronavirus testing sites nationwide. Military veterans are preferred, and pay starts at $50 per hour.

FedEx and UPS are also ramping up hiring as more people go online to buy and shop. The companies are looking for warehouse package handlers, full-time road drivers, and part-time freight handlers.
