Amtrak travelers should plan for extended travel times next month.
The change is to accommodate the East River Tunnels rehabilitation project, restoring train tubes damaged by Superstorm Sandy that connect New York City to eastward destinations like Long Island.
Officials say there will be a 23% reduction in the number of trains, and upstate riders on two trains will see longer travel times.
