More areas will see near peak to peak color this weekend as we continue to advance through fall.
The best foliage has moved out of the mountains and into the lower elevations for the first time this fall.
The Adirondacks
If you're looking for some decent color in the Adirondacks this weekend, your best bet is the southern Adirondacks.
Light snow fell in the High Peaks region earlier this week, which has many putting fall in the rear view mirror and looking forward to winter sports.
The Capital and Saratoga Region
The best color of the season in the Capital and Saratoga Region will likely be this weekend into early next week.
While there will be some beautiful scenes, color will be a bit muted compared to last year.
The Catskills and Hudson Valley
While most of the Catskills are past peak with a lot of leaf drop, the eastern Catskills may feature peak color in spots this weekend.
Parts of the Hudson Valley will show off great color this weekend too!
New York City and Long Island
NYC and Long Island are finally showing some signs of fall with some spots on Long Island near the midpoint this weekend.
Central New York and the Finger Lakes
Foliage is wide-ranging in central New York right now. Peak color is occurring near Cooperstown and Oneonta, while leaves has been slow to change around Syracuse into the Finger Lakes.
After warmer than average weather for most of the week, this weekend will feel as late October should with highs in the 40s/50s.
Showers will be isolated at best this weekend, with the best chance over the Adirondacks and Thousand Islands region.
As always, the best part of this blog is the pictures we receive to update conditions from around the state, so please share any and all photos from around NYS!
