Expect more delays on I-81 this week.
Starting today, I-81 south from Hiawatha Boulevard to the Franklin Street and West Street exit will be down to one lane. The Spencer Street bridge abutment and retaining wall is coming down as part of the I-81 project.
Work is expected to be done by Friday.
The governor’s office said Non-MTA transit authorities are encouraged to apply.
The funding is part of the Wildlife Crossings Pilot Program.
It has to do with bridge inspections, demolition and the I-81 viaduct project.
She also signed a bill to increase penalties for passing a stopped school bus.
Dept. of Transportation crews will be conducting bridge inspections and repairs.
The main contractor and state Department of Transportation will be on hand at an open house.
