The state is on standby to assist with lake effect snow this holiday weekend.

Parts of Central New York and the North Country are currently under warnings. Some areas in the North Country could even see up to several feet of snow.

Officials are asking people to prioritize safety if traveling and plan ahead.

Because of the snow, Zoo New York at Thompson Park in Watertown says it is closed through the weekend. This includes today's Home School Program and tomorrow's Winter Wonderlights.
