Two people from Deposit are facing charges following the death of a 3-year-old earlier this year.

James Christ, 27, has been charged with murder in the second degree and endangering the welfare of a child.

Marielys Ramos, also 27, has been charged with two counts of reckless endangerment, as well as endangering the welfare of a child.

Delaware County District Attorney Shawn Smith said the pair knowingly caused mental and physical injuries to two 3-year-old children between March and May of this year.

Then on May 9, James Christ allegedly killed one of those children.

It is unclear if Christ and Ramos were the parents of the two kids in this case.

Both have pleaded not guilty.
