An Onondaga County jury convicted a 27-year-old man on Thursday of second-degree murder for shooting and killing an 11-month-old infant while she was riding in the back of a car.

Jesse Outley, 27, was found guilty of murder, three counts of attempted murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

In April 2021, two women were in the vehicle with their children in the backseat, when shots were fired, police said at the time. Dior Harris died at the age of 11 months. An 8-year-old and a 3-year-old were injured.

The driver of the vehicle, Chavez Ocasio, was arrested shortly after the shooting, but took two years to tell authorities of Outley's role. Ocasio testified during the trial.

Ocasio pleaded guilty last year to second-degree attempted murder and second-degree criminal possesion of a weapon.

The jury spent nearly three days deliberating the case.
