The mother of Jordan Brooks, the 17-year-old with cerebral palsy who died due to neglect and malnutrition in Oswego County, is taking a plea deal.

Lisa Waldron pleaded guilty Monday to manslaughter and assault in the death of her son.

Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 28.

She was originally set to go on trial in two weeks.

A separate trial for her husband, Anthony Waldron, Jordan's stepfather, is set for October.

Jordan was a 17-year-old with cerebral palsy who investigators said was found malnourished and neglected when he died in May 2021.

According to court papers, the couple failed to seek medical attention for issues like bedsores and other ailments that led to the teen's death.

Lisa and Anthony were both charged with murder, manslaughter, assault and endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person.
