Syracuse police have identified a homicide victim that was killed over the weekend.
Daquan Sullivan, 37, was shot at around 9:15 p.m. Saturday on the 1300 block of South State Street, police said.
Despite life-saving efforts by police and emergency medical crews, Sullivan died as a result of the shooting.
Police said an investigation is ongoing.
Sullivan became the third gun death in the city in the span of a week, coming days after 17-year-old Karlianne Short was shot and killed and after police said another man shot himself while being chased by police. Authorities haven't released whether it was an accidental or intentional shooting.
