Ithaca Police have identified the suspect they believe is responsible for this morning's shooting outside the Green Street parking garage.

Officers are looking for 33-year-old Andre Martin. He's accused of shooting 30-year-old Shane Lott of Rochester a little before 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

Lott was taken to Cayuga Medical Center and transfered to a trauma center. He's currently in intensive care.

Mayor Svante Myrick was actually in a meeting with police when the shooting happened. He praised their quick response

"I saw exactly how fast, how professional, how excellent our police department was in real time,” Myric stated. “It's hard to overstate just what a great job they did canvassing the witnesses who were around, getting control of the scene, doing first aid for the victim, who we hope is doing well."

Police have a second suspect in custody. Officers say 38-year-old Woodrow Turner tried to get rid of the gun. He's charged with criminal possession of a weapon and tampering with evidence.
