It was a busy weekend for rescue teams in the Ithaca Gorge.

Around 1:10 a.m. Sunday, authorities say they responded to reports of a person who had fallen near the Stewart Avenue bridge over Fall Creek. After finding the injured person, firefighters used a specialized rope system to lift them from the gorge and take them to a hospital in Pennsylvania by helicopter. The person's condition remains unknown.

Around mid-morning Sunday, emergency crews returned to the gorge for an unrelated call, leading to the recovery of a dead body. A final search near Giles Street for another potential jumper turned up empty.
