Gov. Andrew Cuomo's re-election campaign raised $2 million in the last six months, a far lower amount of money than he usually raises in a six month period.

The lower fundraising total over the first half of 2020, of course, coincides with the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. The crisis has canceled or postponed many in-person events, including fundraisers that often require face-to-face interaction, banquets and other physical events that are impossible to hold right now.

Cuomo, too, has been a focal point of the government response during the pandemic, holding daily briefings on the issue for much of this time.

Cuomo's filing shows his campaign has also spent a comparatively meager amount as well, $628,059. His cash-on-hand total is $13.3 million.

The third term Democratic governor runs for re-election in 2022.
