There's talent across the board for the Syracuse offense, particularly in the tight end position.
Guys like Oronde Gadsden and Dan Villari are back, and there’s a great mix of newcomers as well.
What You Need To Know
- The tight ends are making some plays in practice for Syracuse
- It's a deep group, loaded with talent
- It's one of the deepest positions on the team
It’s a group that head coach Fran Brown raved about earlier in Fall Camp. It's certainly going to be a position of strength this season for the Orange.
They can roll out different groups with them. All of them are great receivers, but the emphasis is on the blocking aspect in the run game.
"I have size, I have experience, I've got youth, speed," co-offensive coordinator and tight-end coach Michael Johnson said. "So I've got a lot of talent in that room. And they're doing a good job. They're working hard every day. Learning the offense, learning the playbook. And we're really focusing on the run game aspect of it. But I know they can catch balls, so we're really focusing on the run a lot and getting them to become better blockers."
"Being able to be versatile with them has been has been great for the offense, and I feel like they really allow us to do a lot of things," quarterback Kyle McCord said.
