The Skyline Apartments, owned by Green National, has a new receiver and management, according to court documents detailing a lawsuit between Green National and the city of Syracuse.
The Skyline, now infamous for its history of violent crime, code violations and ongoing battle for better living conditions, as well as two other Green National properties in the city, the Chesnut and the James, have been appointed to a new receiver, Lawrence Sall, effective March 31 by the lawsuit.
The lawsuit names the Clear Investment Group of Chicago as the property management for the Skyline, as well as the James and the Chestnut, with the group estimating that it will spend around $7.7 million on renovations and repairs in the buildings. This includes moving Skyline residents into renovated units in the other two properties while the Skyline's code violations are repaired.
The group plans to pay for the costs of moving of Skyline tenants, according to its detailed plan of acquisition in the city's lawsuit. Notices are set to notify Skyline tenants on March 31 about the change in management, upcoming projects and moving arrangements with tenants transitioning to new units at the James and Chestnut on a "rolling basis" over the next few months, according to the group's plan.
