Two of what could be considered "routine" lawsuits have been filed after Tuesday's results showed a tight race in the 50th Senate District.

New York state Sen. John Mannion and Republican challenger Rebecca Shiroff have filed petitions for a recanvass of all ballots in their bid for New York's 50th District. The petition names each opponent as well as the Onondaga, Oswego and New York State board of elections.

Shiroff leads Mannion, a Democrat, by almost 400 votes.

There are still absentee ballots to count in the race. If the difference in the final numbers is less than .5% then an automatic recount is triggered.
