Members of the Spectrum News 1 team in Syracuse attended the Syracuse Press Club Awards Saturday night, with several members receiving awards. 

Our managing editor Patrick O'Toole took home the 2022 Bill Carey Award for Journalist of the Year.

Photojournalist Andrew Hill won first place in the photo essay category for his story on Central New York's "Brewseum," a museum that highlights the region's frothy history.

Sports Anchor Kate Callaway and executive producer Dan Scharfenberger won first for their SU football special.

Digital Producer Luke Parsnow took home first for best digital graphic, comparing the number of COVID deaths by county.

The Spectrum News 1 digital team, including Executive Digital Producer Tim Robertson and Digital Producer Hayley Foran, was recognized with honorable mentions in the best news website and breaking news categories, pointing to their coverage of former governor Andrew Cuomo's resignation last year.

Reporter Brad Vivacqua won an honorable mention as well for his human interest story on an 8-year-old piano prodigy.
