The 22nd Congressional District race still doesn't have a winner, even though Election Day was over a month ago.

"It has definitely been a roller coaster since Election Day and I know everyone is waiting to see the results of this election. I'm waiting anxiously as well," said incumbent Democrat Anthony Brindisi.

"Every day is up and down. Some ballots are found. Ballots are counted, and some aren't, and some are. It's just very uncertain and that's the part that's most difficult," said former Rep. Claudia Tenney, the Republican challenger.

There isn't a winner yet because many ballots were challenged, and Board of Elections issues in seven of the district's eight counties were brought up in court.

This week, a judge ordered Boards of Elections to correct all of their canvassing errors, and where those errors cannot be corrected, to re-canvas those ballots.

Brindisi supports the judge's ruling, although the judge partially denied Brindisi's attorney's requests to only correct certain canvassing errors.

"This is a race where the margin is too small and the stakes are too high to rush to judgement and we really owe it to our voters, our founders, our democracy to let the process play out," he said.

Tenney also supports the judge's ruling, although her attorney's motion to certify her as the winner based on the current tally was denied.

"I hope the judge is fair, and makes sure that the legal votes are going to be counted, and I'm sure that's going to happen. I hope he accepts some of the challenges that we had," she said.

It's unclear when we will know who the winner is.
