Syracuse University is adjusting their spring academic calendar.

According to a press release from the university, it will be eliminating spring break so as to minimize unnecessary travel amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

The spring semester will instead begin a week later than usual on January 25 and instruction proceed without break until April 30. Final exams will be issued May 3 through May 6.

The university also says that, pending further guidance from the state and public health officials, May 7 through May 9 has been reserved for convocation and commencement ceremonies to celebrate the class of 2021. They say this flexibility will allow for celebrations for the previous class of 2020, guidance pending, as well.
